Understanding Bail Bonds in Clearwater

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How long have you been in business?

A:  Integrity Bail Bonds has been a leader in the bail bonds business in the Tampa Bay area for more than 20 years. Together, the Clearwater bail bondsman on our staff have more than 100 years of combined experience writing bonds and helping individuals reunite with their families. We are knowledgeable in the process and compassionate to your concerns.

Q:  How does bail work?

A:  The process of bail is regulated by the state of Florida. When a criminal defendant is arrested, a bail amount is set for each charge. The premium amount is 10% for each charge, which is strictly regulated by the State of Florida. By law, all Florida bail bond companies charge the same rate. When the premium is paid, and a cosigner meets our qualifications, the bond is then executed at the jail. The defendant is released shortly after.  At Integrity Bail Bonds, rest assured that our Pinellas County bail bondsmen work as quickly as possible to ensure the speedy release of your loved one.

Q: Do I have to come to your office to bail someone out?

A: If you are at the courthouse or jail, we are located right across the street, within walking distance. If you are not close by, we can easily do the paperwork with you via DocuSign so you don’t have to come to our office.

Q: What do I need to bring?

A:  There are three main things you will need:

  • Form of payment (cash, check, credit card)

  • Valid ID

  • Three personal references (name and phone number) of family, friends or co-workers

Q: How long will I be at your office completing paperwork?

A: Less than 15 minutes. We work hard to make the bail bond process quick and easy. We are right across the street from Pinellas County jail, so getting a bail bond in Clearwater is fast and easy.

Q:  What am I responsible for if I bail someone out?

A: You are responsible for making sure the defendant appears at each and every one of their court date proceedings. It is absolutely imperative that they appear at every court date. Failure to appear is serious and against Florida law.

Q:  Do I get my money back if I bail someone out?

A: The 10% is non-refundable. It is our fee for paying the total bond amount for you.

Q: Do you disclose any information to anyone if I bail someone out?

A:  Any information that you provide to us is strictly confidential and will not be released to any third party, law enforcement official or other agency.

Q: What is the responsibility of the defendant?

A:  There are three main responsibilities:

  • To appear at all of their court date proceedings

  • To not break any terms and conditions of the bond set by the state

  • To notify this agency if any information changes (phone, address, etc.)

Q: What happens if the defendant fails to appear at his/her court date?

A:  Failure to appear is serious. First, a warrant is issued for their arrest. We will work to have the warrant lifted and the bond reinstated. If that does not happen, you will be responsible for bringing the defendant to our office. If that also does not happen, you will be responsible for the total penal sum of the bond, plus any costs that we incur.
